Profile of the Fall 2015 Entering Class

The 159 matriculants of the School of Law’s fall 2015 entering first-year class began their formal study of law during this year’s orientation program, held on August 14 and 15.

The 2015 entering class has a median LSAT of 161 and a median undergraduate GPA of 3.59. Fifty-four percent of the entering students are male, while 46 percent are female. Virginia residents make up 55 percent of the class, with the remaining 45 percent coming to Mason Law from outside the Commonwealth. The average age of the entering class is 26. Within the entering class, 115 first-year students attend classes as day students and 44 attend as evening students.

Matriculants represent four countries, including the United States, and hail from 25 states and the District of Columbia. In addition, individuals in the entering first-year class hold a total of 26 advanced degrees, including 6 MAs, 8 MSs, 2 MBAs, 1 MHR, 1 MAcc, 1 MPA, 4 PhDs.

The law school also welcomed 13 transfer students in fall 2015, among them 1 MA and 1 PhD.
