Biographical Sketch

Professor Emeritus of Law Jeffrey S. Parker retired in February 2021 after 30 years of service to the law school. His research and teaching interests included procedure, criminal law, and sentencing. Prior to joining the George Mason University law faculty in 1990, Professor Parker was a practicing lawyer specializing in litigation at Sullivan & Cromwell and Sacks Montgomery in New York City. He also served in the federal government as deputy chief counsel (1987-88) and consulting counsel (1988-89) to the U.S. Sentencing Commission. Professor Parker earned his BIE from the Georgia Institute of Technology (1975) and his JD from the University of Virginia (1978).
