Wesley Russell (’95) Elected to the Virginia Supreme Court

On Friday, June 17, 2022, the Virginia General Assembly elected Virginia Court of Appeals Judge Wesley Russell to the Supreme Court of Virginia for a twelve-year term beginning July 1. Prior to his service on the Virginia Court of Appeals, Judge Russell was a deputy attorney general for civil litigation for the Commonwealth of Virginia. He was also a partner at the law firm of McSweeney, Crump, Childress & Temple PC.

A 1995 graduate of the law school, Judge Russell has been a supportive alumnus, serving on panels when asked and bringing appellate oral arguments to the school for students to observe first-hand.
