Professors Jennifer Mascott and Robert Leider Offer Insights on Supreme Court’s Upcoming Term

On September 26, Professors Jennifer Mascott and Robert Leider participated on the Federalist Society’s Faculty Division and Practice Groups’ panel at the Mayflower Hotel, in Washington, DC. The panel focused on the Supreme Court’s new term. Professor Mascott offered her administrative law expertise to provide overviews and analysis of Loper Bright Enterprises v. Raimondo, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau v. Community Financial Services Association of America, and Securities and Exchange Commission v. Jarkesy. Professor Leider followed Professor Mascott’s prepared remarks with his own, drawing from his extensive knowledge of the history of the Second Amendment to offer perspectives and predictions for United States v. Rahimi. Following their prepared remarks, Professors Mascott and Leider took questions along with their co-panelists, Nicholas Rosenkranz, Professor of Law, Georgetown University Law Center; Jeffrey Rosen, President & CEO, National Constitution Center; and Erin Hawley, Sr. Counsel, VP of Center for Life & Regulatory Practice, Alliance Defending Freedom.
Professor Mascott also recently took part in another preview of the court’s 2023-2024 term sponsored by the American Enterprise Institute. Both Professors Mascott and Leider teach at Scalia Law. Professor Leider is an expert in criminal law, criminal procedure, and Second Amendment law. Professor Mascott’s areas of expertise include administrative law and constitutional law. She is also co-executive director of the C. Boyden Gray Center for the Study of the Administrative State at Scalia Law.
