Jamil N. Jaffer Appointed by DHS and CISA to Cyber Safety Review Board
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) announced the appointment of Professor Jamil N. Jaffer to its Cyber Safety Review Board (CSRB) on May 6, 2024. The CSRB is composed of cybersecurity experts from the private sector and senior government officials from a range of federal agencies. Of the appointment, Dean Ken Randall said, “The Law School is proud to have Professor Jamil N. Jaffer appointed to the CSRB, and we are confident that he will make significant contributions to its mission of strengthening our cybersecurity ecosystem.”
Professor Jaffer is the Founder and Executive Director of the National Security Institute (NSI) at the law school. He teaches a range of popular courses, including classes on counterterrorism, intelligence, and cybersecurity. Professor Jaffer frequently appears as an expert commentator in major media outlets, and his insights on national security, intelligence, foreign policy, and technology have been widely published.
