M-VETS Secures Honorable Discharge for Combat Veteran
The Mason Veterans and Servicemembers Legal Clinic (M-VETS) successfully advocated for a Honorable conditions discharge for a combat veteran of the United States Marine Corps (USMC). Despite being diagnosed with post-traumatic stress and traumatic brain injury during service, the veteran was initially discharged under Other than Honorable conditions. M-VETS’ efforts led to the veteran gaining access to medical treatment and DVA disability benefits. The case’s success stemmed in part from the dedication of student advisors Liz Faris and Douglas Boyle, who played a crucial role in achieving justice for the veteran. M-VETS continues to assist veterans and Servicemembers in various legal matters. Full details are available in the M-VETS press release.
