Thomas Gallanis Publishes New Casebook Editions

Professor Thomas P. Gallanis recently published new editions of two highly-regarded casebooks. The first is Family Property Law: Cases and Materials on Wills, Trusts, and Estates, now in its ninth edition. This casebook emphasizes the connection between the law of trusts & estates and the changing American family. The casebook incorporates the most recent uniform acts from the Uniform Law Commission and the latest developments in trusts & estates law. The second casebook is Fundamentals of Property Law, now in its sixth edition and co-authored with Barlow Burke of American University and the recently deceased Ann M. Burkhart of the University of Minnesota. This book is designed for the first-year Property course.
An expert in both trusts & estates and property law, Professor Gallanis is also sought out for his expertise in federal wealth taxation, multinational and comparative wealth transfer law, fiduciary law, elder law, and English & European legal history. He has held prestigious visiting professorships and fellowships in the U.S. and overseas, is an elected member of the International Academy of Estate and Trust Law, the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, and the American Law Institute, and is active in law reform through the Uniform Law Commission and the American Law Institute. At Scalia Law, he teaches Trusts & Estates and Property and serves as the Executive Director of the Global Wealth Management Project.
