Circulation Assistant Positions

The law library is hiring Circulation Assistants for the 2026-27 Academic Year!

Position Description:

Circulation Assistants primarily staff the circulation desk where they open and close the law library, welcome visitors, answer questions, provide excellent customer service, and facilitate efficient access to library resources and materials. Circulation Assistants also support collection maintenance (e.g., shelve books, shelf read, update call numbers); assist with interlibrary loan by retrieving or scanning requests; and work on other special library projects.

Circulation assistants generally work between 8–12 hours per week, depending on their schedule and library staffing needs. Circulation assistants must have some availability to work evenings and weekends and are expected to work during the final exam period.

The pay rate is $13.00/hour.

Required Qualifications:

  • Enrolled as a law student at the Scalia Law School and work study eligible
  • Commitment to providing excellent customer service to all library users
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to follow established policies and procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to be reliable and punctual
  • Strong problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a library and/or familiarity with legal materials
